“The Operationalizing Vision APEX course was the first course in leadership education that I ever enrolled in after many years of coursework for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. The books I was introduced to (Lencioni’s Ideal Team Player, Druker’s Effective Executive, Cowan’s Unbinding Prometheus) and the assignments I completed were a perfect introduction into not just leadership, but specifically leadership in the context of classical education. I still use terminology I learned from this course in my day to day practice. Even more, now that I am more than halfway through a graduate program in school leadership at Columbia University Teachers College, I have come to appreciate just how unique an opportunity it was to study classical education leadership through APEX. There really isn’t another learning experience of its kind in the current landscape of leadership preparation programs and I hope to return to APEX learning experiences as I transition into classical education leadership in the years ahead.”

“The Great Hearts services team played a critical role in the creation of True North Classical Academies. From the very beginning, they served as a model of excellence and generously shared their expertise. They guided us through curriculum development and staffing strategies, while also helping us recruit and train outstanding faculty and leaders. Their Talent Team provided access to a pipeline of highly qualified candidates, and their leadership training and professional development services equipped our team to lead with confidence and clarity. Great Hearts was more than a consultant—they were a true partner in bringing our vision to life.”

Our recent professional development with Great Hearts was an excellent experience for our team. Their facilitators provided clear, thoughtful instruction on the essentials of classical education, being grounded in philosophy, rooted in principle, and applied in practice. They also led a valuable session on Socratic discussion that gave our staff practical tools to deepen student thinking in the classroom. Overall, the training was engaging, well-structured, and a strong step in continuing to strengthen our classical approach as a school. We’re super grateful to the Great Hearts team!
